Six products that promise an opponent and a verdict, checked one by one on October 28, 2026. Two are live and well maintained, one has stalled, two cannot be used right now. Debatable publishes this page and sits first on the list; every claim about the other five links to the page it came from.
Facts come from each product's own website or app store listing, read on October 28, 2026. No third-party directory claims are repeated as fact. For a longer list that includes text forums, argument maps and produced debate shows, see 13 online debate platforms compared.
Two people meet on camera in the browser, agree on a topic, take opposite sides and talk it out, with timed speeches if they want them. The AI judge writes a decision: winner, both sides scored out of 100, the deciding clash and the reason. Rounds feed a public leaderboard, replays can be watched by anyone, and an AI opponent covers the hours when nobody is waiting.
Good for: a real round against a stranger that ends in a written decision rather than a shouting match. Full disclosure: this is our platform.
Watch for: you need a camera and someone has to be in the queue when you are. No app on the stores.
A text debate you play over hours. Post or accept a challenge, write your turns (or dictate them), and up to three AI judges score each side 0 to 100 with written reasoning. ELO rating, tournaments, spectators, and apps on both phone stores. Updated the day we checked.
Good for: arguing in writing at your own pace with a scored verdict at the end.
Watch for: nothing happens live, and its App Store copy describes real-time voice debates while its website describes turn-based rounds over hours. Head to head with Debatable.
An iPhone app for spoken rounds: pick a topic from its library, choose Pro or Con, and argue six turns of 45 seconds against an AI opponent with five difficulty levels or a matched person. The AI judge scores logic, persuasiveness and rebuttal quality and gives tips. Rating and leaderboard inside the app.
Good for: quick voice practice on your phone against an AI that is always available.
Watch for: one update since launch (version 1.0.1, April 10, 2026). Head to head with Debatable.
Rooms of 2 to 20 people arguing a topic. Chat rooms score every typed argument in real time, 0 to 30 points, on evidence, direct rebuttal, staying on topic and structure; voice rooms transcribe 30-second turns and score them the same way. Highest total wins. ELO tiers, custom games with a duration and an ELO stake, and private rooms.
Good for: a fast, scored group argument rather than a one-on-one round.
Watch for: it sells coins for betting on debates, and its live counters read zero when we checked, so finding a full room may take patience.
Launched on Product Hunt in 2024 as a web platform for online debates: daily topics, real-time debates, voice input, several languages, and an AI that judges the outcome. On October 28, 2026, debatia.ai returned a 404 and we found no app store listing.
Good for: nothing today, because it cannot be opened.
Watch for: descriptions on AI-tool directories (skill pairing, a language count, a paid plan) are not on any page Debatia runs. What we could verify.
A phone app for live video debates, called Rō, that others watch and applaud. At the end the app reveals a winner with statistics; no AI judge is described. The App Store shows a first release in May 2023 and a last update on May 21, 2024, and the company website now redirects to a domain parking page.
Good for: nothing we can recommend today; the listings install, but nothing has shipped in over a year.
Watch for: a dormant app can disappear from the stores without notice.
Three questions sort the list. Is the other side a person or an AI? Does the round happen live or over hours? And what do you get at the end: a score, a winner, or a written decision you can read back? Debatable is the only one of the six where the answer is a person, live, on camera, with a written decision. ArguFight is the strongest choice when you want to write rather than speak. Down2Debate is a phone-first AI sparring app. Rebuttal Live is a group game with running scores. The two dormant products show the other thing worth checking before you invest time in any platform: when it last shipped.
We opened each product's website and app store listing on October 28, 2026 and read what the maker says. Where a site was down we say so and quote only the maker's own launch listing. Where a maker's pages disagree with each other, we say that too. Numbers that only appear on third-party directories are left out. Debatable's own column uses the same facts as its About page and pricing page.
It depends on what you want. For a live round with a real person on camera and a written decision, Debatable. For a written debate you can play over a day with AI judges, ArguFight. For short voice rounds on an iPhone, mostly against an AI, Down2Debate. For a scored chat room with many people, Rebuttal Live. Debatia and Cicero Media were not usable when we checked.
Debatable (a written decision with both sides scored out of 100), ArguFight (up to three AI judges scoring 0 to 100 with reasoning), Down2Debate (an AI judge scoring logic, persuasiveness and rebuttal quality) and Rebuttal Live (real-time scoring of each argument, 0 to 30 points). Cicero Media reveals a winner with statistics and describes no AI judge. Debatia said AI judged its outcomes, but its site is down.
Debatable and Cicero Media. Debatable is live in the browser with the camera on for both people, and it is being updated weekly. Cicero Media is a phone app whose last update was May 2024 and whose company website now shows a domain parking page.
All six have a free way in. ArguFight says base debating is free forever and lists in-app purchases on Google Play. Down2Debate is free to use with a paid Basic plan on the App Store. Rebuttal Live is free to play and sells coins. Cicero Media lists no purchases. Debatia was listed as free. Debatable's free plan includes live rounds with people after sign-in; paid plans start at $10 a year.
Debatable, the first product on the list. Every claim about another product was read from that product's own website or app store listing on October 28, 2026, and the links are on this page so you can check them. If we got something wrong, tell us through the support page and we will fix it.
One sign-in, a topic you both accept, a real person on the other side, and a judge who explains the result.
